Early Childhood Education Conference 2017 Together we grow – the child in focus

Call for Presentations:

The 2017 Early Childhood Education Conference will be held at Caulfield Racecourse, Melbourne, on Friday, 26 May 2017 and Saturday, 27 May 2017.

This major conference will bring together over 1000 early childhood professionals including early childhood education and care service providers, educators, and specialists working with children from birth to the early years of school.

Gowrie Victoria is co-hosting the conference with the Early Learning Association Australia (ELAA) in partnership with members of the Conference Reference Committee (CRC). The CRC comprises representatives of ELAA and Gowrie Victoria, the Victorian Department of Education and Training (DET), Community Childcare Vic, the Centre for Community Child Health, Banyule City Council, FKA Children’s Services, Noah’s Ark Inc, Playgroup Victoria and the Victorian Aboriginal Education Association Inc.

ELAA is now accepting submissions from people interested in presenting at the conference.

Please send your submissions to ELAA by 5pm Friday 21 October, 2016.

The 2017 conference theme Together we grow – the child in focus includes children’s sense of identity; their connection and engagement with their community; their sense of wellbeing; children as confident and involved learners; effective communicators; children’s rights; resilience; disadvantage/ vulnerability; supporting transitions; partnerships with families and professionals; and equity and diversity.

Selection criteria
Presentation proposals will be assessed with respect to how they:

  • directly relate to the conference theme
  • inform conference attendees regarding relevant research, contemporary policy, and practical service delivery relevant to the early childhood education and care sector.
