QA5: Relationships with Children
This introductory session explores a particular area of enhancing wellbeing, the concept of mindfulness, defined as ‘the awareness that emerges through paying attention on purpose, in the present moment, and nonjudgmentally to the unfolding experiences moment by moment.’ (Hooker and Fodor, 2008) Participants will gain a deeper understanding of child brain development and the role of attachment to support optimal environments for mindfulness to occur for children and adults.
