This year in Kinder A Gowrie Broadmeadows Valley, the children have demonstrated high interest in animals and have shown great excitement when learning about Wedge Tailed Eagles (Bunjil) and Crows (Waa) through our Indigenous Perspectives learning whilst exploring all birds of Australia.

We have decided to extend on this by following the falcons in the city. In Melbourne CBD there has been two Peregrine Falcons who come back yearly to mate and nest in a box on the ledge of one of the buildings in the city. We have been following these birds since August and the children have gained tremendous knowledge on these birds over time , i.e.; their life cycle, their food preferences and other facts. As some of the children had to remain at home, we have been offering both children and families to participate in this project through remote learning and zoom group times.
