The Advanced Diploma in Community Sector Management (CHC62015) has been tailored to the Early Childhood and School Age Education and Care sector. Course units focus on pertinent aspects of leadership and management such as leading and managing change, educational leadership for the National Quality Framework (NQF), financial management, risk management and operations.

This qualification best suits those working in Children’s Services as a Director, Assistant Director, Team Leader, Regional Manager, Program Coordinator, Kindergarten Cluster Manager or an Educator who is responsible for the coordination and management of a smaller organisation.

The aim for Graduates is to develop a broad managerial skill-set for the effective planning and delivery of  an organisation’s goals and strategic directions.

Course content is grounded in current Early Childhood and School Age Education and Care research, while theoretical and practical applications of the National Quality Framework (NQF) are embedded within each unit. Progression through the units will see students undertake practical aligned with current practice and the requirements of the NQF.

The Advanced Diploma in Community Sector Management can be undertaken as Accredited Training or as Professional Development with non assessment workshops.  Completing all course modules leads to the Advanced Diploma qualification and project work will be considered as assessment against required competencies. Learning consists of a combination of theory-based (face-to-face and online classrooms) and practical implementation in the workplace.

Full qualification with assessments: Part-time learners: 12 months
Non assessment workshops: 4 x 3 days (compulsory attendance)
Online forums and assessment: over the 12 month period

Delivery
This qualification includes both classroom and online-based training delivery methods. The course is designed with non assessment workshops for those not wanting the qualification but professional development.

Learners working towards the CHC62015 qualification will participate in Online Weekly Reflective Forums and work on a Reflective Learning Journal through the entirety of the course.

To be eligible for Advanced Diploma qualification, you must have:

  • Completed a Diploma qualification (or above) relevant to Community Sector (Children’s Services), or
  • Sufficient relevant experience and knowledge in community work or sector services
  • A current Working With Children Check.
  • Learners must be at least 15 years of age and be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
