Our Docklands Centre is open to children and families from 8:00am to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday, 50 weeks of the year. We offer regular tours for prospective families and welcome applications for children to be placed on the waiting list.

Once we have determined the booking request for your child and a place becomes available, you will be emailed a letter of offer. If you require childcare immediately and a place is available, we will be happy to offer you that place. If a place is not available or your enrolment is for next year, we suggest you join our waiting list. To ensure a fair, equitable and transparent process, Gowrie Victoria follows the Commonwealth Government Priority of Access Guidelines.

Priority 1: a child at risk of serious abuse or neglect
Priority 2: a child of a single parent or parents who satisfy the work/training/study test
Priority 3: any other child

  • The fees are $146 per day
  • There is a two day minimum enrolment to ensure consistency and a sense of belonging for children and families
  • Some families are entitled to the Child Care Subsidy from the Commonwealth Government, The Child Care Subsidy will be paid directly to child care services to be passed on to families as a fee reduction. Families will make a co-contribution to their child care fees and pay to the child care service the difference between the fee charged and the subsidy amount. Quality Improvement Systems: National Quality Framework (NQF)

The new National Quality Framework (NQF) came into effect on the 1 January 2012. This has involved the introduction and implementation of the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011), the Education and Care Services National Law Act (2010) and the National Quality Standard (NQS) (2011). Children’s education and care services covered under the Education and Care Services National Law are assessed and rated against the NQS. This important reform will deliver a higher standard of care for children in the critical areas of education, health and safety and will provide clear and comprehensive information for families so they can choose the best services for their child. The National Quality Standards (NQS) are linked to the National Early Years Learning Framework (2009) which recognises that children learn from birth. The process reflects a uniform approach to assessment and reporting across the range of service settings. Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority undertakes the assessment and rating process. It is also the point of contact for any questions services may have about the assessment and rating process. In December 2015, the service was awarded the Excellent rating under the National Quality Standards. The Excellent rating is the highest rating an education and care service can achieve. The purpose of the Excellent rating is to: celebrate excellence in the delivery of education and care; engage and involve families and the community in the profession’s discussion about quality and what is important in education and care; learn from and be inspired by examples of highly accomplished practice, innovation and creativity in education and care; promote and reinforce the value of education and care and the people who work in the sector; recognise providers and educators who are champions of quality improvement. The practices, principles and learning outcomes of the Learning and Development Frameworks were consistently embedded in pedagogy at the service. In particular, the holistic approach to teaching and learning, supported by achievements in establishing and maintaining relationships with children and the willingness to collaborate with families to enhance children’s learning and wellbeing.
