The Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care prepares learners to become qualified early childhood educators and provides the skills, knowledge and understanding required for this demanding and rewarding career.
Qualified early childhood educators have responsibility for the supervision of staff, students and volunteers. In most states this is the qualification required at director or service manager level.
This course provides a qualification that is recognised throughout Australia and workers are in extremely high demand.
2017 intake dates
Saturday 24 June: Docklands
Saturday 5 August: Carlton North (prior Cert III in CS)
Tuesday 12 September: Docklands
Full-time learners: 18 months
Part time learners: 2 years
This qualification consists of a combination of theory-based training and practical implementation in the workplace. Learners who are not employed in the early childhood sector (working with children) will be required to complete 360 hours of work placement. Placement is organised by Gowrie Victoria and supported by regular visits by a Gowrie Victoria trainer.
