Our Gowrie Broadmeadows Valley team were recently re-awarded the Excellent rating in the ACECQA assessment for their outstanding service. The assessment highlighted the service’s commitment to children that respects, reflects, and celebrates culture and diversity, and acknowledged their exceptional collaborative partnerships with professional, community, and research organisations. The report also praised their commitment to leading the wider education and care sector and their contribution to the improved practices of educators and high-quality programs beyond the service itself.

This is the third time Broadmeadows Valley has received this rating. CEO Karen Weston congratulated Early Learning Manager Michelle Gujer and the team for the achievement, stating, “This is a recognition of the team’s relentless focus on continuous improvement and excellence, and their ability to demonstrate how they do it to others across the sector. We are so proud of the incredible support the team provides to children and families, the strong community they have nurtured, and the depth of their collaboration every day with many partners across the Broadmeadows community.”

Gowrie Broadmeadows Valley is one of only 26 services across Australia currently holding the Excellent rating in 2025, and one of only eight in Victoria. It is our largest service, offering 194 places for children in long day care, and integrated and sessional kindergarten programs for three- and four-year-olds.

Further to this significant achievement, the team, in partnership with MacKillop Family Services, has also been shortlisted as a finalist in the Victorian Early Years Awards for 2025. The nomination is in recognition of their evidence-based partnership, which provides co-located, early intervention, and personalised family support that strengthens outcomes for children and families through the integration of education and social services.

We’re also proud of our team at GDK whose exceptional work was highlighted when they were shortlisted as a top three finalist in the 2025 HESTA Early Childhood Education and Care Awards in the ‘Outstanding Service’ category, standing out from more than 250 nominations.

These recognitions underline Gowrie’s commitment to setting the highest possible standard for early childhood education and care across Victoria.
