Gowrie continues to grow with four new early learning services set to open in term one 2027 across Melbourne and Geelong.
Supporting the Victorian Department of Education’s Kindergarten on School Sites (KOSS) program, Gowrie has been appointed to run three sessional kindergartens for 3-4-year-olds including Rosamond Road Footscray Kindergarten* (Footscray), Iramoo Primary School Kindergarten* (Wyndham Vale) and Craigieburn North-West Kindergarten* (Craigieburn), along with Northern Bay P-12 College Early Learning Centre* (Corio, Geelong).
The appointment of the new services comes after Gowrie expanded into Geelong and outer metropolitan Melbourne for the first time early this year. CEO Karen Weston is now looking forward to being a part of the Craigieburn, Footscray, Wyndham Vale and Corio communities. “We are delighted to open early learning services in these growth communities in 2027,” she said.
Construction is well underway on the three sessional kindergartens, with furniture, fixtures and equipment all ordered. Once complete, there will be 198 places across six rooms at Rosamond Road Footscray Kindergarten, and 99 places across three rooms at both Craigieburn North-West Kindergarten and Iramoo Primary School Kindergarten.
Development of the Northern Bay P-12 College Early Learning Centre will happen in two stages with a temporary modular building offering more than 76 from term one 2027. During this time the permanent facility will be designed and built. This will then expand to a 135-place service in 2028.
The Northern Bay P-12 College Early Learning Centre is jointly funded by the Australian and Victorian Governments through the Building Early Education Fund (BEEF) which is funding 11 major projects in Victoria. Karen is proud that we have been awarded one of these significant programs. “This is wonderful news, and it’s a win not just for Gowrie but for children, families and communities that benefit from state and federal investment into early childhood.”
The early learning centre, set to become the largest service Gowrie operates in Geelong, will be an integrated hub with support services. “We believe we will be able to make a genuine impact supporting local families, working with the school and other partners by providing a range of integrated supports to families,” says Karen. “This builds on what we know we do well, at our Broadmeadows and Carlton sites, working with partners to deliver impactful, exceeding quality services”
Enrolments are now open for all four services. Submit your interest by visiting Iramoo Primary School Kindergarten, Rosamond Road Footscray Kindergarten, Craigieburn North-West Kindergarten or Northern Bay P-12 College Early Learning Centre.
