Gowrie offers two early learning services in Docklands – enrolling now

Gowrie has a proud history of supporting families with high quality childcare and kindergarten services in Docklands.  Gowrie is known for the rich learning experiences and unique outdoor space at The Harbour offering long day care and integrated kindergarten.  We opened our second site in January 2021, partnering with the new Docklands Primary School where our new kindergarten is located.  Gowrie Docklands Kindergarten offers sessional kindergarten.  Children in Docklands deserve the best quality early education and care and we look forward to providing this to even more families for many years to come.

Both Gowrie services in Docklands were rated as Exceeding the National Quality Standards in 2023.

Gowrie @ The Harbour

Our long-standing and highly respected service for families who live or work in Docklands.  At 1 Seafarer Lane we continue to offer long day care programs for children aged six weeks to five years, sessional kindergarten programs for three year olds, and an integrated kindergarten program for three and four-year-olds.

We offer progressive and flexible indoor/outdoor programs. The innovative design of the garden among the high towers of Docklands makes for a special place for children.  We believe in being inclusive and approachable and are proud of our Exceeding rating, awarded in December 2023.

Gowrie Docklands Kindergarten

Co-located with the Docklands Primary School, we offer sessional kindergarten. Enrolments are flexible and there are spaces for 66 children across two rooms.

The unique design provides opportunity for community building through shared spaces and close connections with the Docklands Primary School as well as the wider community.

We are proud to be rated Exceeding in August 2023.

A big Thank you to everyone who has put in so much work behind to scene to keep things fun and normal for the kids during all the challenges this year. Planning, comms, cleaning, constant changes are very hard and thanks for getting it right, getting it done in addition to spending quality time with the kids. Thank you for caring for my daughter as much as we as her parents do. It’s evident when we drop her off she’s so happy to be there and though we’d love to be able to have her every day with us, we’re so happy to leave her somewhere that she’s happy to be at.

Sessional Kindergarten (3-5 years)
Group A – Mon, Tues, Weds 9.15am – 2.15pm 
Group B – Mon, Weds, Thurs 9.15am – 2.15pm 
Group C – Mon, Thurs, Fri 9.15am – 2.15pm
Group D – Tues, Weds, Fri 9.15am – 2.15pm

School terms only

Fee – $181 per day
Sessional Kindergarten: No charge

For children enrolled in our integrated kindergarten programs you will receive a kindergarten subsidy (approximately $2050) that will offset the kindergarten program component of your out-of-pocket fees, this will be applied directly to your account in instalments over the year.

We’re pleased to accept your enrolment request at any time of the year. Once we have your booking request and a place becomes available, you will be emailed a letter of offer. If you require childcare immediately and a place is available, we will be happy to offer you that place. If a place is not available or your enrolment is for next year, please join our waiting list.

To ensure a fair, equitable and transparent process, Gowrie Victoria follows the Commonwealth Government Priority of Access Guidelines:
Priority 1: a child at risk of serious abuse or neglect
Priority 2: a child of a single parent or parents who satisfy the work/training/study test
Priority 3: any other child

The National Quality Framework (NQF) came into effect in 2012. Children’s education and care services are assessed and rated against the National Quality Standards. This ensures a high standard of care for children in the critical areas of education, health and safety and provides clear and comprehensive information for families. The Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority undertake the assessment and rating process. It is also the point of contact for any questions services may have about the assessment and rating process.

In December 2023, Gowrie @ The Harbour was awarded the Exceeding rating under the National Quality Standards. 

The Victorian government is progressing 3 interrelated reforms that are integral to reducing family violence and promoting child wellbeing or safety. From April 2021, additional organisations and services were prescribed under all 3 reforms and this includes Early Childhood Education and Care services.

Three-year-old Sessional Kindergarten
Group One: Friday 8:45am to 4:15pm
Group Two: Wednesday 8:30am to 4:00pm

Four-year-old Sessional Kindergarten
Group One: Monday, Wednesday 8:45am to 4:15pm
Group Two: Tuesday, Thursday 8:45am to 4:15pm
Group Three: Monday, Tuesday 8:30am to 4:00pm
Group Four: Thursday, Friday 8:30am to 4:00pm

Free kindergarten will be available for all three and four year old children enrolled at Gowrie Victoria sessional kindergarten programs.

No meals provided
