A place where every culture is celebrated and every family belongs.
Gowrie Docklands Kindergarten is home to one of the few kindergartens co-located with a school in inner city Melbourne.
- A community built on belonging. With around 95% of children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. We celebrate our cultural diversity every day by integrating home languages into our programs, and creating real opportunities for connection.
- Wraparound support for every family. On-site Maternal and Child Health checks, a clothes swap, and a free book program remove barriers and ensure every family feels genuinely welcomed and supported — work recognised through our nomination for ‘Outstanding Service’ at the 2025 HESTA Early Childhood Education and Care Awards.
- A unique head start on school. Located within Docklands Primary School, children access school facilities, join a Buddy Program with primary school children, and can participate in private music lessons in piano, drums, and voice.
Gowrie Docklands Kindergarten is rated Exceeding under the National Quality Standards.

A Message From Our Team
Hi, I’m Jacque, a Teacher here at Gowrie Docklands Kinder. Thank you for considering our centre for your child’s learning journey.
Having been part of the Docklands community since 2021, we’ve seen many families and their children walk through our doors every day and keeping those relationships with them as they transition next door to Docklands Primary School.
Building strong, lasting relationships with children, families, the community and support networks is at the heart of what we do. I’m proud that our work to support newly arrived migrants to Australia settle in and find their feet, many of whom don’t have family here, has been recognised with a nomination for ‘Outstanding Service’ in the 2025 HESTA Early Childhood Education & Care Awards.
We strive to provide exceptional care and high-quality learning for your child. We welcome you to come visit us so we can give you a tour!
Thank you, Jacque and the GDK team
