Last week we held our first Open Door session at our Docklands Early Learning Centre. The session not only allowed attendees to explore the service, but to reflect and discuss different strategies that they could take back to their own services. The session covered:
the Gowrie philosophy and what it looks like in practice
ways of documenting children’s learning and development
the community context and how it is relevant to the service and influences practice
a tour of the indoor and outdoor programs to gather ideas for learning experiences and spaces.
See what the attendees had to say about the session:
“Very insightful, love the use of the natural and recycles resources”
“Thank you – a lot of ideas which I will implement in our centre”
“Loved looking at all the rooms”
“It was inspiring!”
Keep an eye open for future Open Door sessions!
