Sector-leading salaries
Gowrie positions itself as one of the better paying organisations in the sector; we value what you do and what you bring to the role. We are also pleased to be part of the sector-leading multi-employer agreement. With this, we can pass on the 15% government-funded pay increases on top of our already above award pay; our salaries are typically in the top 10-20% in the early childhood sector.

Positive workplace culture and an engaged workforce
Our staff engagement scores are high with 75% of staff rating Gowrie as a truly great place to work. Our engagement scores are within the top 10 – 25% of community-based and care organisations overall. Our values are embedded into our ways of working, our policies, procedures and systems and our expectations of all our team.

Professional and career development support
We’re committed to your learning and development and offer ongoing coaching and professional development including individualised learning plans; leadership programs; access to an online learning hub; support for accelerated study towards a teaching qualification; opportunities to be involved in projects, research and communities of practice; and First Aid and CPR Training Qualifications provided and paid for. We also have clear career pathways, from trainee through to leadership roles.

Innovative and flexible operating model
We have non-contact/planning time for everyone, not just Room Leaders. This is part of an operating model focused on letting teachers and educators do what they do best – spending their time educating and caring for children, developing strong relationships with families and valuing everyone’s contribution to children’s learning. We care about your flexibility and we work with you to cater for preferences around casual, part-time and full-time opportunities wherever possible.

Generous leave provisions and employee support programs
You’ll get access to Sonder which is a free and confidential 24/7 personal wellbeing service; additional personal and compassionate leave each year; paid domestic violence leave; paid parental leave; and even a return-to-work bonus after returning from parental leave.

Employee discount of up to 30% of childcare fees
If you choose to send your child to one of our six services across Melbourne, you can take advantage of a discount of up to 30% off the gap fee.
