Gowrie Victoria has been accepted as a member of the Australian Council for Private Education and Training (ACPET).
This is good news as ACPET is one of the two organisations in Australia which provides Tuition Assurance for learners undertaking VET courses of study. Tuition assurance is the insurance scheme for students in case their provider is no longer able to provide training for them.
Most of the large private providers are with ACPET, or with TAFE Directors Australia, of which Gowrie Victoria is already a member. These Tuition Assurance organisations will refer learners to their member providers when another provider closes.
Due to the number of providers closing at the moment (read more on ASQA’s news page), ACPET has been very careful about whom they accept as members. By being accepted, it means that Gowrie Victoria can be contacted by ACPET to take on learners from ECEC courses which have closed, and ensures our commitment to delivering quality training for Early Childhood Education and Care.
UPDATE: In 2019, ACPET transitioned into the Independent Tertiary Education Council Australia (ITECA).
