Congratulations to our Broadmeadows team who were named a finalist in the inaugural Emeritus Professor Collette Tayler Excellence in Educational Leadership Award. The Award was presented by the Department of Education at the Victorian Early Years Awards ceremony last night.
Finalists in this Award category also included The Geelong College Early Learning Centre and Community Kinder Plus. We congratulate Community Kinder Plus who won the Award.
Our Award entry focused on connecting with families to share in the decision making about their children. We participated in the Victorian Advancing Early Learning Study together with the Melbourne Graduate School of Education, and embedded ongoing and relevant learning. Our team adapted teaching and learning approaches to meet the unique strengths and needs of the community. In a culture of curiosity, the study focused on how a professional learning program can affect the quality of educator-child interactions.
By openly sharing knowledge, educators now feel empowered to engage in discussions around their role and the impact they have on children’s learning and development.
